🔧 QL8C62 Installation
Kee'd Threaded Insert — Install .010–.030 below surface
- Drill support structure with 29/64 drill to depth of .775 (thru hole tap)
- C'Sink 82° or 100° to .510–.520 width
- Tap 1/2-13 UNC-2B, .650 min depth
- Install .010–.030 below surface
- For hardened supports, broach with QL8-B1 Tool
- Drive Kees with Skybolt QL8-T1 Tool
🔧 QL8C78 Installation
Non-Kee'd Threaded Insert — Receptacle is flush with surface
- Drill support structure with 25/64 drill to depth of .775 (thru hole tap)
- C'Bore .105 to .140
- Tap 7/16-20 UNF-2B
- Loctite threads to desired depth
📋 Important Notes:
(1) Ensure proper length stud nut is used for panel thickness. If torque loads exceed 15 in-lbs and outer panel is not secure, the cams will be damaged requiring receptacle replacement. If cams are skipping, replace stud nut.
(2) If the stud nut is too long, it will force the end of the stud nut to compress the springs into coil bind. When this happens, the notches on the end will shear the small nubs on top of the upper cam, rendering the locking feature useless.
(3) Minimum Grip reduces 1:1 for every .001" receptacle is below the surface.
(4) If Min Grip is exceeded (less than charted), the cam system will fail requiring replacement of the receptacle.
